Welcome to Curse of Ancient Egypt! Where we make history! Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV) has just died and the kingdom of Egypt is once again restored to it's former glory with gods and goddess aplenty. However, A war between the gods and goddesses has also just finished. Now, only one god and goddess remain. Those two are Hathor, a protective goddess and the goddess of love and joy, and Ra, the sun god. Hathor and Ra have created a time of peace for their children, the Egyptians. But greed festers in the hearts of men and their gods. Hathor wants to see more beauty and Ra wants to control more skies.
However, in another country, not so far off, there are talks of war against the prosperous Egyptians.
And while Hathor and Ra think they are alone, in the shadows is Seth, the god of death and his followers. However, no one knows who Seth is.
Do you follow Hathor and Ra? Or do you follow Seth?

The word had spread just as quickly as Marlia had thought; although no one came near them. Marlia stayed to Nefret's left at all times, with her other guards, no one would be able to touch Nefret. Nefret had wanted to see things downtown anyway, so she thought this would be a good time. Nefret and her guards went off to look at jewels, and boys while Marlia went off towards the place that had been arranged between herself and the Head Trader.
She went to the entrance and saw him waiting for her. She was to far away to see his expression or anything else. In fact, it was hard for her to walk anywhere; people were everywhere. Her hand drifted closer to her sword than it had already been as she got closer to a group of rough-looking men. She had seen their type before. Marlia sighed a little, they were going to be trouble for her.
Just as she had thought, the obvious leader of the group looked at her and made a signal with his hand to his comrades. Yup, trouble. This would be fun.
Marlia put on her best seductive smile she had, which was rather effective, and eyed all of the men as if she was seizing them up. The leader came towards her, "that sword looks awfully heavy. How about letting me take it off of your hands."
His hands started going towards her in a possessive way. Marlia let him get almost all the way to touching her before stepping aside.
"I am quite capable of handling this sword. Now if you will excuse me, I have somewhere to be." She said, trying to avoid trouble.
The leader pulled out a knife and laughed. "You won't be going anywhere I think." He said.
A half-hearted laugh escaped her lips as she drew her sword and took a lazy defense. She figured she would have fun with this guy and make him think he was doing good before her died.

Seth entered the workshop where the completed leathers had been laid out on the workbench for his final approval. Per request, he was alone in the small room, and, as an extra precaution, he shut and locked the door behind him as he entered.
Looking down, he examined the finely worked curves and seams of the armor, imagining it accenting Marlia's feminine form. Yes, this would definitely be worth the investment...charms or no charms.
He reached down and withdrew the small, patterned rings of metallic foil from the pouch at his waste. Sitting at the bench, he made fine incisions in the leather at the appropriate places, inserting each of the featherweight charms in it's proper spot. There were nine in all, symbolizing the four winds and the five elements, and each engraved with its respective symbol and the spell to block observation using each type of power, as well as a cloaking charm to use each power to shield him when he was nearby. However, this would only work when he was in his non-corporeal form. No matter. He didn't plan to have Hahkmet anywhere near Hathor's temple anyway, so it would make no difference in the end.
Finished inserting the charms, he fused each incision closed with a flow of power from his ptah, eliminating just the amount of material the charm would displace, in its exact shape, before melding the leather around it back into a solid piece, being sure that there were no noticeable ridges or bumps where the charms were hidden. Satisfied, he slung the leathers over his arm and emerged into the hall, and began walking toward the entrance way. Malia, and Hathor, would be here any minute. He did not want to keep them waiting!

Marlia walked to Nefret's house with the silks in her hand; thinking of the one person she would need to tell that she would be with Nefret. Someone with a loud mouth; can't keep a secret; never shuts up...basically someone fool enough to make sure that everyone all over Egypt knows that Death's Mistress will be with Nefret.
One person came to mind. Aritha. Nefret's younger sister. Aritha could never keep a secret even if she was to swear of the god of death himself. Marlia chuckled. She would tell Aritha and the word would be out within the hour.
Coming up to Nefret's house, she heard laughing from somewhere inside. She didn't knock, she never did. She saw Hathor and Nefret in one room laughing about something; probably some boy they saw. She walked into the room, nodded to Nefret and put the silks on a table.
Now Hathor and Nefret would probably talk about when they would get together again...and the boys. Marlia rolled her eyes. Always the same thing.
She walked towards one of the rooms in the house; knocked on the door and waited for the answer.
"Yes?" Came a voice from inside.
Marlia opened the door and stepped in.
"Hi, Aritha. Do you mind?"
"Marlia! On, no! Come on in. Did you get my sisters silks?" Aritha asked, unconcerned.
"Yes. I got them. I also got something else. I bought myself some new leathers."
"Really? Oh that is wonderful!"
"Yeah. I go in two days to get them. Nefret has to come with me though."
Aritha paused for a moment, "I'm sure she'll love it and will be perfectly safe."
"I'm sure too. She will be with Death's Mistress after all"
They laughed, "well, I have some work to do. If you will excuse me." Marlia said with a fake smile.
"Oh, no problem. It was good to see you again. Stop by again sometime."
"I will."
Marlia got up, walked out the door and dropped her smile. That girl was annoying. She cared about clothes. Marlia was surprised that Aritha didn't beg for details about her leathers. Maybe it was because leathers were to "tough" for the poor innocent girl.
Marlia went down the hall and vanished into the shadows. Not long afterwards, she saw Aritha walk out the front door, and before she closed the door she looked back to make sure no one was following her.
Marlia smiled. The news would be around everywhere before she had a chance to go to bed tonight. Everything was working out just as she had planned. Another wicked smile crossed her face as she went back to the room with Hathor and Nefret.

"I'm sure that I can." She thought of Nefret.
Nefret would have to come with her. She had to work that day and there was no way she was going to leave Nefret unprotected. There would be people everywhere and even more possible attackers. This could be fun.
"Thank you for your help." She said, slightly inclining her head in respect to the woman Rishta.
"I need to get those silks to my Mistress." She said.
Her mind started raising with many strategies and ideas on how to make sure Nefret was safe while traveling through this part of town. Disguise? Nefret would never agree. 8 guards, one in each direction? No, to much attention. Close this side of town down? Riots. And far to hard to organize.
A wicked smile crossed her face. The solution was simple. She simply makes it known that the High Priestess would be traveling with Death's Mistress. And anyone fool enough to come to close to either her or Nefret would die.

Glad to have her name, find her satisfied, and learn from her mind that she hated being called ma'am, (he had hated being callerd ma'am, too for that matter. In fact, he hoped to never have the occasion to be trapped in a woman's body ever again) Hahkmet turned to Rishta.
"The forms are prepared, I presume?"
"Yes, as they always are," she said testily.
"Good. Then I will take them to the tailor to get started right away."
Waiting for her to get back with the forms, he turned again and looked at Marlia. She was quite beautiful actually. However, Seth had seen many beautiful women. Moat of them he didn't like. At least not for more than a few days, tops. There had been Bast, though, but she was a goddess. Hopefully this one was more sane than the rest of them. She'd already shown her mettle, as far as Seth was concerned, and besides, he liked her kind of instability. A little insanity was fine, as long as it lead to some kind of death.
That was what he liked about her. Every aspect was a finely honed, perfectly tuned weapon, right down to the way she looked his up and down, all the while keeping her swordhand ready. Yes, this woman was a weapon of the finest sort.
When Rishta returned, Seth relieved her of the armload of forms. Turning to Marlia he said, "The leathers will be ready in two days time. Can you return for them then?"

"Marlia. No miss, just Marlia. And you are?" She hated being called miss, always had.
The one thing she hated more than being called miss was being called ma'am. She had gotten that from all of the trainees that were younger than her. And after she had graduated, everyone called her ma'am. She turned her attention back to the task at hand.
Her mind had been wandering a lot today. Another reason she hated going anywhere on her day off, she was never completely on her guard. After all, it was her day off and anyone fool enough to attack her in the first place, she mind as well have some fun with them first.
"And yes, it was better than most other fittings I've had." She paused, than mumbled, "unlike most others I've had that take ages."
Yup, that's why she never got new leathers...the fittings and being away from her weapons for any length of time. It was enough to set her nerves over-board.

Hahkmet made his way back thorugh the hallways to the door of the fitting room, humming an ancient death chant as he went. He always liked that particular chant. It made him feel...powerful. In fact, there were many things that had this effect, and he enjoyed every one.
Throwing open the door, again without introduction, almost colliding with Rishta as she was passing to get something or other. Recovering his composure, he turned to see his customer fully armed and looking ready for any battle. My, she was something. And, come to think of it, he didn't even know her name. That WAS a shame, now, wasn't it? He would have to fix that.
"Was the service to your satisfaction, miss..." he paused, waiting for a reply.
